Opening Comments 9:00 am

Prill welcomed all present. 

 

Approval of Minutes

No minutes were provided from the previous June meeting or September Special Planning meeting.

 

Special Presentation

Mark Peterson, Fort Hood, presentation a PowerPoint on the Army Emergency Preparedness Public Awareness campaign being launched.  The campaign focuses on individual and family preparedness, takes an all-hazard approach.  The campaign can be modified by any group to customize it for that group.  The PowerPoint presentation will be shared with anyone requesting it.

 

Training

Brem noted that notebooks and CDs are available from the recent Nuts & Bolts of Emergency Preparedness conference held in Belton.

 

Brem also noted that there will be an Preparedness and Planning event sponsored by Bell County and others on November 7, 11:00 am—2:00 pm, at the Bell County Expo.

 

Joe Dorn advised that he is actively recruiting people to go through Amateur Radio training.

 

Other Business/Information

Prill displayed new general information brochures and specialty magnets being distributed by Bell County Public Health District to prepare for flu season.

 

Williams stated that the Health and Human Services Commission is beginning a campaign, Ready or Not, to prepare families, with extensive coverage in television ads.

 

Schedule Next Meeting

Next LEPC Meeting will be Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at 9:00 am, at the Central Texas Council of Governments Building in Belton.
